Right from the beginning, Reliance Jio is becoming the main reason for huge losses of other telecom operators in India. Earlier, Jio provided free 4G internet and got over 100 million subscriber to their new telecom service. And recently, they announced about Jio Phone which is effectively free of cost. All the other telcos are already feeling the heat of this new product of Jio. So, Bharti Airtel has also taken decision and told that they are also going to launch their Airtel feature phone with dedicated cheap 4G plans very soon.
Getting Started With Airtel Feature Phone
A recent report says that Airtel is looking for partnering with feature phone manufacturers to launch cheap Airtel feature phone in the market. They are also planning to make some dedicated 4G data plans like Jio Phone’s Rs 153 plan where users will get 0.5GB data per day. The only wait is for covering the whole nation with Airtel 4G VoLTE network which will complete till the March of 2018.
But unlike Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel will not offer their Airtel feature phone for effectively free of cost or any time of subsidy in cost. But the largest telecom operator company ensured that Airtel feature phone will come with a lot of exciting and very cheap 4G data plans which will help them to get more customer. So, users may see some great bundled data plans with the feature phone of Airtel.
Highlights Of Airtel Feature Phone
- Low Cost (Not Effectively Free)
- Comes with Bundled Data Plans.
- Free Unlimited Voice Calling.
- Free SMSes Every Day.
- High Speed 4G data At Low Cost.
Excepting Jio Phone, Lava is the only company which is offering a 4G feature phone priced at Rs 3,599 which is very high compared to Jio Phone. Now everyone is knowing the potential of 4G supported feature phones. Other manufacturers like Micromax, Karbonn and Intex may also join the fray very soon. But every manufacturer should try to set the price near Rs 1,500 like Jio Phone in order to get sales. Because nobody will buy a feature phone at a price tag of Rs 3,599.
Instead of making their own feature phones, Airtel may also tie-up with any of these manufacturers to provide bundled data plans at cheapest price. This will let users use any other company’s 4G sim as well unlike Jio Phone which supports only a Jio sim. But where, Jio is trying to sell over 100 million Jio Phones within 12 months, it is fairly tough for Airtel to compete with Jio by providing bundled data plans with Airtel feature phone.
