Yes! You heard it right. Months ago, Mukesh Ambani announced the Jio Phone and said it’s effectively free of cost. Then millions of people pre-booked the Jio Phone by paying Rs 500. And now, finally RJio published the Jio phone terms and conditions on their official website. But the terms are really shocking. If Jio Phone users don’t agree with these terms, they will be charged extra penalty charges.
When Jio Phone was launched, Mukesh Ambani said, it’s effectively free of cost. So, most of the people thought that they will use it as their secondary device and once the 3 year is passed, they will get full refund amount of Rs 1,500 back. But after publishing the Jio phone terms and conditions on the official Jio website, the reality came under the light. Shockingly, there are multiple terms and conditions which were totally unexpected by them who pre-booked the Jio Phone.
Jio Phone Terms And Conditions
People though that, they will use the Jio Phone whenever they need it. And after 3 years, if the phone still works, they will return it and get the refund amount back. But after publishing Jio phone terms and conditions the reality is, users have to continuously recharge their Jio Phone with Jio plans. Users can recharge with any plan, but they should never get out of using Jio’s plans. The minimum amount of recharges is Rs 1,500 per year. So, after 3 years, the total spending amount for recharging Jio plans will be Rs 1500 x 3 Years = Rs 4,500. And this is mandatory to spend at least Rs 4,500 to get the full refund amount of Rs 1,500 after using for three years.
Now, you might be thinking that, what will happen if you don’t recharge continuously? Well, the answer is, if you don’t recharge at least Rs 1,500 per year, then Reliance Jio has the rights to take back the Jio Phone from your hand. Very Shocking!! Isn’t it? Remember that, you will pay total Rs 1500 as security money at the time of getting Jio Phone. And this is not the full price. So, officially you are not the owner of the phone. So, the actual owner of all Jio Phones which is RJio itself, can take back the phone from you and you can’t do anything.
