To take on Jio Phone, Bharti Airtel launched it’s Airtel 4G Phone in partnership with the well known 4G phone manufacturer Karbonn. Unlike Jio Phone, Airtel 4G phone is a smartphone which runs on the Android OS. Then phone is also known as Karbonn A40 Indian. Airtel 4G Phone Price
The actual market price of Airtel 4G Phone (Karbonn A40 Indian) is around Rs 3,349. It’s currently available on eStores like Flipkart & Amazon. But Airtel has partnered with Karboon to provide additional benefits with Karbonn A40 Indian smartphone.
Airtel will provide the same phone as Airtel 4G phone (effectively) at Rs 1,399 only. When you will buy the phone, you have to deposit the down payment of Rs 2,899. Then you have to recharge the phone with a specific amount (talking about it in the paragraph below) every cycle for three years. After that Airtel will provide flat Rs 1,500 cashback into the Airtel payments bank account of the buyers. So, at the end, the Airtel 4G phone price becomes Rs 1,399 only.
Airtel 4G Phone Specifications
Airtel 4G Phone, also knwon as Karbonn A40 Indian comes with a 4 inches touchscreen display with the resolution of 480×800 pixels. It also has 2MP front and 2MP rear camera with flash. The phone is powered by Quad core 1.3GHz processor. Airtel 4G Phone also contains 1GB of RAM and 8GB of built-in (internal) storage which is expandable upto 32GB via MicroSD card.
Karbonn A40 Indian runs on Android 7.0 Nougat. Some of it’s connectivity options are 4G VoLTE, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth USB OTG, 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio. It has only one sensor which is accelerometer. Airtel 4G Phone is powered by a 1400mAh removable battery. The phone is available in Black, Blue, Gold and Red color.
Airtel 4G Phone Plans & Offers
Specifically for this phone, Airtel has launched a new tariff plan in their list. It’s called Airtel 169 plan where users will get 500 MB of high speed 4G data per day. Users will be also provided unlimited voice calling to local & STD numbers with this plan. Though Airtel is telling it “unlimited calling” but it is likely to provide 300 minutes of calling per day and 1200 minutes per week. Because, Airtel previously limited it’s voice calling from unlimited to 300 minutes per day to stop the abuse of free calling benefit. The Airtel 169 plan comes with the validity period of 28 days.
Airtel 4G Phone Terms And Conditions
In case of Jio Phone, it was effectively free of cost and users need to return it after three years. But for Airtel 4G phone, it is effectively Rs 1,399, not free. At the time of getting the Airtel 4G phone, users need to pay the down payment which is Rs 2,899. Then users need to recharge with Rs 169 plan for at least first 18 months to get Rs 500 cashback from Airtel. After that, if the user keep recharging Rs 169 plan for next 18 months, Airtel will give Rs 1,000 cashback again. The cashback amount will be provided in the Airtel payments bank account of the user. So, users must opt-in for a savings account on Airtel payments bank in order to receive the cashback. The image below explains how it works.
So, at the end. Users will have to make the recharge of Rs 169 plan for 36 months. The total recharging amount will be Rs 6,000. Then the Airtel will provide Rs 1,500 cashback. Here, users don’t need to return the Airtel 4G phone. They just buy it at Rs 2,899, make the recharge of Rs 6,000 during 36 months and get’s Rs 1,500 cashback. The phone becomes of Rs 1,399 effectively. If the user stop recharging the phone after 18 months, he/she will get Rs 500 cashback only.
